Your Own Home Business And The Advantages
August 21, 2008 | Leave a Comment
The American dream is owning your own business. Making that business an in-home business makes the dream even better. Paying for day care, travel, a commercial real estate is canceled by working from home.
Any kind of home business is a great idea but one that comes with a cost. Starting a business, whether in your home or outside, is not as simple as some think. However, the benefits rival any small problems that might come along.
People who want to start a home business find that the main benefit is the freedom of being your own boss. Many people think that this only pertains to those who have had bad experiences with their superiors in the past. This is not the case, as it is always better to work for yourself.
Working for yourself not only opens up career advancement doors that have been shut previously due to office politics, but it also guarantees control in decision-making. The self-employed person has the ability to earn what they deserve rather than constantly proving themselves just to be given a small raise. You determine how much you are worth, not someone who has his or her own personal needs in mind.
Controlling the product or service, the business owner has control over the product or service rather than having their brilliant ideas dashed by superiors. How much money they make is decided by the owner who controls the product or service. How much or how often they work is also their own decision.
At the beginning of a home business, the workweek will often be much more than a regular job. Once the business is established, though, the workweek could become much less than a regular nine-to-five job. Depending upon the product or service, the owner could be financially able to work whenever he or she wants.
Getting projects done is easier when there is no boss looming over your shoulder checking every detail of your work. The pace and choice of projects you work on is up to you. Petty work that takes up the time you could be working on something of more importance is often requested when working for others.
Running a home business is not all fun and games, though. It can be hard work to get a business running smoothly. However, this hard work pays off in the manner of being able to see the benefits of your labor personally instead of waiting for annual reviews.
In businesses like day care, lawn care or website design, the worker can see immediate results of their work. In other positions, it is often the owner who hears the praise. In these jobs, it is months later when the worker finally is praised during annual reviews.
Owning your own home business, you hear from the client immediately about the spectacular job you have done. The benefits of seeing the total results and hearing the praise from the client are not the only benefits of owning your own business. The compensation from the product or service comes directly to you rather than you only getting an hourly wage and the rest going to the owner of the company.
Many benefits are found in owning your own business. Just some of the benefits are being your own boss and controlling the product or service. These do tend to be the most rewarding of the benefits.

Writing Effective Sales Letters For Your Business
August 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Writing can be a major task for beginners especially when it is business related. Writing sales letters is a skill that comes with much practice. If you are a website owner, learning copyrighting is a good technical skill to master. Let’s look at some of the good techniques that go into writing letters and some of the letters that one needs to master when marketing online.
Introduction letters are key as they are the first impression prospects get about you and the product you are introducing them to. Often auto responders are set up with these and they should be short, concise and to the point. Save lengthy explanations for later letters and target the first letter toward creating rapport with your prospect. Thank them for expressing interest in your product or service and offer help if the first letter is in response to an inquiry or a response to a lead capture sales letter type advertisement.
Follow up letters, particularly those written for an auto responder, should concentrate on benefits your product has for the prospect. For maximum effect, I usually pick one benefit and expound on it to my reader. Effective sales letters grab the readers attention, quickly denote the benefit, and make a call to action, usually a purchase or response to an offer in the letter.
Another type of effective sales letter is one with a list of benefits contained in the letter. These are usually the type used in advertisements although they can and are used in follow up mailings. These list the benefits of the product in sequence for the reader. When devising these, list out all of the selling points for your reader. A lead paragraph clearly stating the problem your product will solve should precede your list of benefits.
This leads up to the most vital part of writing sales letters: the call to action. If this in an advertisement, the call should involve some type of action you want the reader to take like clicking a link, filling out a form for more information or making a purchase.
In an effective sales letter this should direct the reader to a web page, prompt them to make a purchase or to contact someone. Make the call specific. CLICK HERE! or FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW are examples of direction you should give to the reader in your call to action.
Lead capture sales letters are where you follow up a prospect or lead you have already pre-sold in an advertisement. One of the things I like to do in follow up is to offer the prospect some “freebie” to gain their trust. This can be a free ebook, an offer to give away a token item, to put their name in a drawing for an item you plan to give away or anything your prospects perceive to be of value. When making such an offer in your letter, try to tie it to some type of call to action to motivate the prospect to respond.
While writing sales letters for your business can be challenging, it is a vital part of staying ahead of your competition. Practice it regularly to hone your skills and pledge to get good at writing ad copy so you can plan better advertisements. Send out letters on a regular basis to prospects and clients to help build better relationships and attract sales. Your business will be better for it and you will reap the rewards.

Why Lakeside Homes Have Become So Popular
August 19, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Knowing which house to buy is a complicated decision, in which many factors must be thought upon in order to make the best decision for one’s family. Lakeside homes come into play by giving families an even more difficult choice: are lakeside homes worth the price?
A lakeside home is going to be more expensive simply because lakeside homes are associated with wealth. Since most lake homes are now being situated around man-made lakes, builders want to seek extra profits from the sale of land and homes in the area to accommodate the cost of shaping the lake and surrounding area.
The first benefit most will notice about a lakeside home is that the view is simply amazing. Lake homes carry a certain sense of homely life in the summer, where the beautiful glimmer of the lake supplements the summer sky and green summer grass. This scenery comes at a cost, however, as real estate brokers know that a more detailed scenery is going to mean thousands in markup price because of the demand.
If one brings their children along to look at a lakeside home, they are bound to get the many exclamations that the water is going to make for a perfect entertainment source throughout the seasons. Summer gives the children the perfect spot to swim under the right conditions, and winter brings the fun sport of ice skating. This varies based on location, but the lake never ceases to be a source of fun.
While it isn’t always the most politically correct way to add up the benefits of a lakeside community, most will agree that the fact that there are more wealthy neighbors brings the fact that there is less crime on average. This has been proven in areas where inner-city life has more crime, which correlates to the data that a lesser per capita income promotes crime of certain nature.
Lake properties aren’t always a good decision for those with a poor credit score or a low income. If a lakeside home is still desired, there are ways to get the same benefits but at lesser costs. Finding lakeside homes that are situated in rural areas where there is less demand for them is one of the best routes to forego. If nothing else, taking out a loan with the help of a spouse can be a viable way to afford the extra expenses.
Closing Comments
For best results in obtaining cheap lakeside homes, be sure to visit Internet listings and check with local real estate brokers for more information. Make a long list of options, investigate each one, and ultimately decide if the luxurious lakeside lifestyle is a viable solution for you and your family to enjoy.

Why should I have an ebay store
August 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment
I firmly believe that to be a success when selling ebooks on eBay you need to have an eBay store. They more than pay for the £6 monthly fee with the benefits they provide. These include cheaper fees, longer listing duration, and much more. Find out about all the benefits below:
1) Cheaper Fees:- The insertion fee for an auction listing on eBay is 15p. The insertion fee for a buy it now listing on eBay is 20p. However, the insertion fee for a store listing is only 3p. On top of this the gallery fee for auction and buy it now listings is 15p whilst the gallery fee for a store listing is only 5p. These are the only two listing features I use for my eBay ebook listings which gives me a total saving of between 12p-17p per ebook I list in my eBay store. Now this doesn’t seem like much of a saving, but since I list all my ebooks as store listings and only a small proportion as auction listings this actually equates to a significant saving. I would advise any other ebook sellers on eBay to also list their ebooks in this way as it will lead to huge cost savings for you. If you list your full inventory as eBay store listings, and then your most popular items on the main eBay site as either buy it now or auction style listings you can save money and promote your eBay store (I will discuss this promotion aspect further in the next edition of the newsletter).
2) Longer Listing Duration:- The maximum listing duration of a buy it now or auction style listing is ten days. With a store inventory listing you can list for 30 days, 90 days, or Good till Cancelled (the listing renews every 30 days till you cancel it). Not only does this provide the benefit of added value for money, but it also saves you a lot of time. Instead of relisting an ebook every ten days you can simply list it in your store as Good till Cancelled and not worry about it again.
3) Unlimited Inventory:- When you list an ebook as an auction or buy it now the insertion fee goes up depending how many items you want to list. When you list in your eBay store the insertion fee remains at 3p whether you list 1 item or 1000 items. This is a huge benefit to ebook sellers because as you already know, you can sell infinite copies of the same ebook, since it is digital. Therefore, if you list 1000 copies of your ebook (or even more if you wish) as a Good till Cancelled listing you will hardly every have to maintain it. This will not only save you time but also money.
4) Custom Store Pages:- With a basic eBay store you get 5 custom pages (and even more with anchor and featured stores). These custom pages are useful ways of conveying extra information to your customers. I use my custom pages for; a Disclaimer page, a Privacy Policy page, a SPAM Policy page, a Terms and Conditions page, and a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. However, they can also be used to convey other important information to your customers or to promote one of your products or websites. Having these custom pages available in your eBay store makes you look more professional which in turn generates increased customer trust.
Recently eBay has also added the ability to cross-promote with other sellers. This is very easy to set up and eBay manages the whole process for you. All you have to do is go to the “Cross-Promotion Connections” area of My eBay and then use the request cross-promotions link in order to set them up. If the other seller agrees then a box promoting their products will appear on your listings and vice versa. This is again a valuable opportunity to increase sales.
The sales reports are particularly useful because they incorporate eBay fees and PayPal fees. This means you can see how much actual profit you are making after all fees have been accounted for. They also show sales growth so you can monitor this also.
The newsletter tool whilst basic is also useful. If people opt-in to recieve your newsletter then it can automatically be set to send out monthly updates of new items that have been added to your eBay store. This again increases the chance of repeat business. It is particularly useful for ebook sellers who are likely to be adding new products on a regular basis.
5) Store Customisation:- With an eBay store you can customise the look and feel of the store, making it unique. The ways you can do this include adding a store logo, adding a custom header to all your logos, choosing the layout of your categories and listings, changing the colours, using promotion boxes, and much more. The benefit that this provides is that when customers visit your store it is different and stands out from the rest. This will make them pay more attention to your store, spend more time browsing, and hopefully lead to increased sales and long-term business.
Hopefully this article has shown you that for the low monthly fee of £6 you can save time and money, look like a more professional business, and increase your traffic and sales. You even get your first month of having an eBay store free so there really is nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.

Sell your knowledge on the net
August 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Do you have something you are good at? Of course you do. We all do.
Do you think there are people who would pay to learn what you know? Again, of course there are.
The obvious way to reach others and profit from your knowledge is to write an ebook. This is a very good idea and can be very lucrative. But in addition to an ebook there are many other ways to profit from your knowledge.
3 Alternatives to Writing an Ebook
1. Write several small reports. Write 7 to 15 page reports on your subject and release them over several weeks before combining them into an ebook at the end. This has the advantages of being easier and quicker to complete (probably 99% of the people who “start” ebooks never finish) thus getting money into you hands quicker. It may also be easier to “hook” someone with your first $5 to $10 report so that they will continue with the next 6 to 8 than it would be if you were to ask for $40 to $100 for the full report up front.
There is also the benefit of knowing sooner if there is a market for your information. Better to find out after writing 10 pages than 200.
2. You could start an internet coaching service. This highly profitable field is not as hard as you may think. There are several very good courses around to tell you exactly how to set up your coaching service and how to find clients. Many people will pay $100’s a month for good information and access to a mentor. But the good news is you don’t need many. Just a few can make you a very good living.
3. Hold a TeleSeminar or Webinar. This is a good way to interact with a large group of (paying!) customers all at once and has a very personal feel to it. Your customers can ask questions and air their feelings while listening to you and others. Many people will pay $100’s a month for good information and access to a mentor. But the good news is you don’t need many. Just a few can make you a very good living.
Why Do Just One
The great thing about the alternatives above and the internet in general is that you need not limit yourself to any one. You can easily do all of them.
In the past, when an author wrote a successful book he was limited in the ways he could cash in on his good fortune. No longer. If you write a small report that starts to sell, you can immediately start on the second small report while scheduling a webinar to discuss the first one. The webinar will give you ideas for more reports and after you have 6 or 7 you can combine them into that ebook you wanted to write in the first place.
Meanwhile, if the subject proves popular and it is appropriate, you can offer your coaching services to a select group of customers for a premium.
Anyone who “just” writes an ebook, can make a good living, but is often “leaving money on the table”.

How to Pick the Right Broadband Connection
August 16, 2008 | Leave a Comment
When you are considering whether a broadband Internet connection is right for you, it is important that you evaluate many things. Price is only one of them.
Of the many factors that weigh into your decision about choosing an internet service provider, the very first should be an evaluation of your location. This is vital because you can only order service if it exist in your geographic location. It would make no sense at all to research the prices of broadband service when there is no broadband cable or access points near your home. The good news is that if you live in any semi civilized area, you’ll easily have access to a number of quality service providers however many outlying communities may not be so lucky.
After you have determined if broadband is available in your area, the next step is to decide your true needs. For example, will you be using your service for personal use or more for business? Will you have one computer using the connection or multiple? The answers to these questions can mean the difference in the cost of your service. For instance, Internet service providers like Verzion and Verzon have packages that service the needs of both the home user and business. In fact, if you bundle multiple services many of these companies offer incredible discounts than you would otherwise get if ordering them separately. As an example, Verzion has a plan similar to this that it offers its customers.
Just as there are multiple things to consider when selecting an internet service provider, there are also multiple methods of payment as well. While many people pay on a month to month basis for service that is not your only option. Most of the companies will also allow you to pay for a years worth of service up front. This is a real benefit for those of you who have an income that fluctuates from month to month. This is a great option if you are truly satisfied with the service they provide and desire a significant discount.
On a positive note, the fact that web browsing with the old school dial-up connections are so outdated, just about all the major service providers have kept up with the latest trends in fiber optics and satellite technology. Today, not only can your computer reach speeds equivalent to 100 m.ph. on the highway, but so can your cell phone. The web surfer’s new mantra is now, long live broadband.
The truth is, you are really only one step away from high quality high speed internet. The only remaining item you need is a decent computer. The good news is that if you purchased your PC within the last three to five years, you should be okay. However, if you still have an older computer, it may be time for an upgrade. The technology surrounding broadband almost requires many of the advanced features of a newer model PC.
Before ordering broadband service, carefully study Vicki DeMazzier I’s in depth analysis of High speed internet providers. If you’re serious about finding the best deal, High speed internet providers is a must read.

How to Improve Your Google Listing and Achieve a Higher Search Engine Ranking
August 15, 2008 | Leave a Comment
There are many ways in which you can improve your Google listing, and some work better than others depending on the type of website you have or on your niche. Here are ways in which you can get a higher Google ranking, or even a better search engine ranking in general.
We shall forget about onpage SEO such as use of meta tags and use of keywords since that has been done to death by now. There are other things that you can do to improve your search engine ranking, and among them are:
1. Put a site map on your website. You can generate an XML site map using any of several tools listed on Google, and a simple, search should enable you to find one. Once you have followed the instructions, you should submit the site map to Google and to Yahoo, and each will then be able to crawl your website without hindrance. It will also be updated each time the search engines crawl your site because XML sitemaps update as you add new pages to your site. Your site map should uploaded to the root directory of your website.
2. Start up a blog using one of the two main free blogging hosts, Blogger or Wordpress. In fact, why not use both and get the benefit of each? Blogger is owned by Google, so a Blogger blog is of particular benefit for Google listings. Put the URL of the pages of your website that you want promote on your blog, and these pages will be visited next time your blog is crawled.
3. Open an account with Technorati, and some of the other social bookmarking sites, and submit your blog to them. Ping them each time you make a new posting, and you will get good exposure to search engines whenever they visit these sites (which is very often).
4. Use social networking sites such as YouTube, MySpace and Facebook to advertise your blog, or even your website. In fact put both your blog and your website on these sites, and you will get one-way back-links to your site, thus improving your Google PageRank and search engine results positions.
5. Make sure that all of your links are open. Nothing ruins your Google listing than broken links, and you must test all of your links to make sure that they are all working. You aren’t expected to do that manually, and there is software available online to test your links for you.
6. Avoid reciprocal links like the plague, unless you have arranged them privately and both of you are happy with their positioning. Links farms, and large list pages on which you are at #259 on the SEO page, are not only useless with respect to any PageRank votes, but can actually do you harm. So steer clear of them. There are enough ways of securing one-way links without having to negotiate reciprocal links. These days are long gone.
7. Register with Google Webmaster Tools, and check out their analysis of your website. The software can detect broken links, but more importantly, can carry out other tasks such as making sure that only one form of your URL is recognized, and checking out your Meta tags. Although these are not used as much as previously, they are used or Google wouldn’t be checking them for you!
8. Register for a free Squidoo lens, and use your URL on that. Not simply just as a URL, but as a means of solving a problem. A Squidoo lens is like a mini-website, and you can use it to present a problem, and then your website as a solution. Not only does that get you one-way back-links to your choice of website page, but also the potential of loads of traffic: people that want their problem solved.
So there are eight methods of promoting your website and improving your search engine ranking. There e other ways to improve your Google listing, but these are very effective off site methods of doing so, other than 1 and 5 that are essential on-site techniques - even more important than meta tags and the correct html tags.
Apply each one of these and you should be rewarded with an improved Google listing, and your search engine ranking in general should be enhanced.
These are only eight methods of improving your Google listings, but SEOcious will provide you with many more methods of attaining a very high search engine ranking for your website.

A regular Flow of Content what search engines want
August 15, 2008 | Leave a Comment
The Internet is full of Saturday Morning Bloggers. These bloggers ignore their blogs all week, then they post a few dozen articles in their blog and then spend a few hours adding comments to other blogs. This is a great way to spend a Saturday, but it provides very little SEO marketing benefits. Search engines need a steady flow of comments. Most blogs that appear in a web search have a post that has been published within the last few hours. Dozens of blog search engines operate for the sole purpose of alerting the big five search engines of new content. The posts that you publish on Saturday are already out of the lists by Sunday afternoon. That is why it is important to provide the search engines with fresh content daily.
A steady stream of content is so important that some blog software programs have a delayed publishing plug-in. This lets the blogger upload multiple articles at one time, but it waits until a pre-determined time to publish each one. This is a great idea, but it is only half the solution. The blog search engines must be pinged shortly after the blog is posted. There are several good pinging services on the web. Most of them ping a few dozen blog search engines, telling them that your blog has new content. This confuses most bloggers. They believe that tagging an article with a blog search engine like Technorati or Del.icio.us is all they need to do. Tagging is a method of introducing a list of your articles to potential readers. Tagging has nothing to do with building in-bound links or a web pages rank. Tagging is for peoples benefits. Pinging is for the benefit of search engines. Publishing one blog a day and then pinging the blog search engines will ensure that the big five search engines never forget your blog. gives a visual of how blog pinging works.
Each of the blog posts that appear on the page have pinged the blog search engines. An overly simplified method of explaining pinging is by comparing it to crawling a webpage. Instead of waiting for a robot to crawl the blog, ping the search engine while the news is still fresh. Another excellent strategy is to invite your reader to leave a comment. Comments are picked up by search engines as new content. The only problem with allowing comments it the potential from comment spam.

How to Use Article Distribution Services to Your Advantage
August 12, 2008 | Leave a Comment
You’re right, there’s such a thing as good article marketing strategy and bad article marketing strategy. It’s what separate the men from the boys.
Since article marketing is no longer a secret, thousands of people are employing this strategy to help build their online and offline businesses. They use it to promote blogs, new websites, new forums, corporate sites, and any other web entities that you can think of. Why is article marketing so popular?
First, it’s one of the easiest traffic generation technique to implement. Everyone knows how to write an article. If they don’t feel like writing, they can always hire someone else to write for them. A 500 word article could reap benefits for months and months down the road.
It’s about return on investment. If you hire someone to write an article for you at $3 per article, how much are you going to get back? From previous tests and experiments, the benefits far surpasses 300% return on investment. That’s partly due to the fact that articles generate traffic for you on a long term basis.
After writing your article, you may then submit the article to hundreds of article directories out there. This is where most people get hung up. Writing an article? Sure, no problem. Anyone can get it down within 15 minutes or less. No sweat! But sit down at my computer and spend hours submitting to hundreds of article directories? No way! It’s too boring, painful, and requires too much time!
But still, it’s a job that needs to be done. Again, you can always choose to outsource the article submissions to someone else. It’ll cost you a little more but if it’s going to save you hours and hours of time, and give you long term traffic in return, what’s that few dollars extra? It’s money well spent.
The professional Internet Marketers know how to leverage on the time of others for their own benefit. Think about it. They are buying traffic in volume when they’re submitting to hundreds of sites. If you only submit to a handful of sites, maybe you’ll average 3 or 4 visitors per month. But if you submit to hundreds of directories, you could double or triple the traffic generated because of all those links out there.
Besides, you’re never going to beat your competitors if you do not play their game. Remember, if your competitors spend just a little bit more each day to hire someone else to submit their articles for them, they are surely ahead . That leaves them more time to focus on other aspects of their business, and with more links out there, they get more traffic and own the lion’s share of the market.
Not only do they get all that traffic from the links that they’ve put out there, they’re also more likely to rank better in the search engines. A single profitable keyword that ranks well in the search engines can reap enormous benefits month after month. And the rankings stay there because every month, more links are found!
So don’t postpone your own success by delaying implementing an article marketing strategy early in the game. Acquire that much needed competitive advantage, put the links out, get the traffic in and enjoy the profits.

Anyone can put a website up on the net. It’s easy and there are many software programs that will help you choose design templates and get you started. You could open an blog and start doing business that way. But soon you’ll notice that no one is visiting you. Your website that displays your products and services doesn’t seem to be earning you any money. It’s pretty, sure, but you’re still running after sales instead of clients banging down your doors. Google doesn’t even rank your site. What’s happening?
If you don’t have people paying attention to your site, good luck. Moving up the ranks of Google and becoming successful happen in one way: By driving traffic to your site. Face it; the virtual world is a huge place. How will people find your one site amongst all the others?
You can help drive traffic in one very easy way. Articles are a hot topic on the internet for a few reasons, but one benefit articles have is that you can submit them to directories. Your articles will display a link back to your site somewhere around the end of the text. This little strategy of offering a link for people to click and submitting that article everywhere you can is important for your website traffic.
You see, most individuals who sit down at their computer and pull up Google type in a few words about what they’re looking for. “Blue Honda Civic,” for example. Those are called keywords. Now, if your website offers blue Honda Civics, the article you wrote and submitted to directories was most likely about that product. Since your article is relevant to the person’s searching and since your article is all over the place, Google finds it.
The individual is pleased. He or she has found a great article packed with information about those blue Honda Civics. The person has learned something. What’s more, there’s a link to a website at the bottom of the article - your website. Of course, the person is pleased with the information they’ve found. They want to know more or maybe the article has sparked interest in a new area, that red Honda Civics are better than blue.
And the individual clicks the link to your site. Voila! Traffic!
There are a couple of points to keep in mind when writing your articles (or having them written by someone else) to boost traffic to your site. Quality content matters. Poor writing, sloppy grammar, boring text, or a lack of real meat and potatoes for content isn’t going to encourage anyone to click through to your site. Most likely, poor articles will drive people away.
Another important point is remembering that you’re writing for people, not search engines. Loading an article with “blue Honda Civic” to catch search engine notice is poor “black hat” strategy and frowned upon. Keywords should enhance an article, not overwhelm them. The search engines will notice you, but readers will turn their noses up and turn away to someone else who cares about giving them quality articles.
Your articles should be about something that’s hot talk on the internet. If everyone is crazy about the new races between blue and red Honda Civics, jump on the bandwagon. Write about what people want to know about. If your articles discuss how the gas tank cap turns right instead of left to open, likely no one will be interested in the information and you won’t get any readers or individuals clicking through.
Don’t write about the same old that everyone else’s articles cover. Add a twist to material. Make it fresh and be different - just enough to snag reader interest. Since everyone is going to be writing about what’s hot on the internet, many people are going to cover the same matter and articles are going to start looking all the same. Try to avoid your articles being a carbon copy of everyone else’s.
